Around the world, millions of children live in orphanages without any hope for adoption. Thrust into the world without a family, these children face an uphill battle to improve their lives. Poverty, lack of family support, and limited education all too often deny these children the hope of a better tomorrow.

These children need a sponsor today!

What is required of a Sponsor family?

We ask our sponsor families to commit to the program for one year, during which time we hope you will come to the same conclusion we already have, there is no better program out there to help a child.

Each of the kids are looking for a family that can help support them while they try and get a start in life after leaving the orphanage. All of our sponsor kids have some money, enough to help them "survive" when they are forced to leave the orphanage. However, we are looking for multiple sponsors for the kids so they are able to do much more then just survive. The children in this program are all "good kids," have a desire to succeed and need an education beyond the orphanage to help them make it.

College runs as little as $400 per year to as much as $900. We have over 40 kids already enrolled already with a dozen more being added each year. In 2006 the college portion of our humanitarian effort has exceeded $20,000 and we need your help!

This program has provided a source of emotional as well as financial support for over five years now. As a sponsor family, you will have a choice to write or not to write to your child. A lot of the kids write back, some don't, but at a minimum you will receive two updates / letters from the kids per year. We encourage you to write as often as possible though as your letters can help them to see a world beyond what they know and to empower them to change their future. Our agency will forward your letters on a monthly basis to Kazakhstan, and mail you any correspondence from your sponsor child as soon as we get it.

What does your $30 per month provide?

$25 out of the $30 you give goes into a college education account. To insure the money gets to where it is supposed to me we require the children to present invoices from the college and the money is paid directly to the college on their behalf. $5 goes to help pay for our in-country staff, etct.

The children living in the orphanage we work in are ages 8 to 18 and must leave shortly after their 18th Birthday. Those with sponsor families have a better chance to get started on the right path. They can go to college, they can get an apartment, they can get some clothes and try to "fit in" with the other kids in town. They can do a lot with your help and support and very little without it.

While the money is important, it is really your letters that will make a difference in these children's lives. Your continued support and attention provides a source of hope and inspiration for these children.

Thank you for helping to make a difference in the life of a child!

What will you receive as a sponsor family?

Your child will write you letters at least twice each year. Some write more, but this is the minimum we require from the child to stay in the program. You will be able to witness for yourself how your sponsorship and friendship is providing a precious child with a higher quality of life and the hope for a more productive future they might otherwise never have known. This friendship will not only change the child's life, it will change your life in ways you can never imagine.

Some Facts about Sponsor Children

The children living in the orphanage in Kazakhstan are sent into the world on their own when they are 16-18 years old. Most of them without a trade or sufficient education to make them productive in society and without a family for support.
There are limited operating budgets to support these children adequately due to the poor economic conditions. Currently we are told the budget to support 400 children living in Zhas Dauren orphanage in Uralsk, Kazakhstan is $100,000 per year. This is only $250 per child per year.
The children in our sponsorship programs live in the older kids orphanage in Uralsk, Kazakhstan, called Zhas Dauren. (Young Plant in Kazakh). The kids are divided into groups, with approximately 12 children per group. Each group has several older children that are expected to teach the younger ones how to care for themselves, basically... children raising children. This is why we ask you to write letters as often as possible, to give them an adult presence in their life.
The children attend school on a daily basis in Zhas Dauren. Teachers from town are brought in by bus. Zhas Dauren is really a small city onto its own. It has all the basic necessities, but only in minimal amounts.
Many of these children have been brought up in the system, living in an orphanage all of their lives. In Kazakhstan they stay in a baby house from zero to five, then go to a preschool orphanage from five to eight, then onto Zhas Dauren from eight to 18. Some of them leave at 16 and enter a trade school, most stay as they are too afraid to leave until they have to. Most all of them are ineligible for adoption for a variety of reasons.
